How Can I Create a Bespoke Garden Room?

It’s true that UK gardens are becoming smaller, so new homeowners are trying to make the most of the limited space that they have. However, it doesn’t mean you don’t have enough space to create a garden room! Anything is possible when you consider designing your very own made to measure garden building. And it’s not just smaller gardens that crave more space, larger gardens have tons of capacity to create a garden room that’s truly special!
Perhaps you’ve looked around at off-the-shelf garden room designs and they don’t quite fit the bill. Planning your Perfect Space with Tiger
First things first, you will need to make sure that the location is perfect. If there’s an area in your garden that is unused or neglected and could be filled with a garden room, then this is a good place to start. Other considerations… do you want your garden building in direct sunlight or more shaded? Once it’s built it is staying put so make sure you find the perfect spot.
Once the area has been defined, you’ll need to measure the area and work out what the maximum footprint your garden building can be. We always recommend leaving a minimum of one metre from your garden room to the perimeter of your garden to allow access for assembly and maintenance.
You’ll also need to consider the building design and aesthetics as well as roof style (a sloped roof such as an apex or pent roof is better for water drainage).
One last thing to mention when considering your own design and build…it’s a good idea to check the planning regulations for your area, as we’d hate for you to be caught out.
