Meet the Tiger Team | Stephen Hogg, Product Designer

We'd like to introduce you to Stephen Hogg, our in-house Tiger Product Designer. Stephen creates and develops our one-of-a-kind Tiger garden building range and is dedicated to creating innovative products and enhancing existing ones to best meet the needs of our customers and the wider business.

Tell Us a Bit About Yourself?
My first job was with DHL before I went to university, and when I want to relax, I take the dog for a walk, head to the golf course, play video games, or watch a box set. I'm all about trying to improve my golf game and get my handicap as low as possible — I'm currently play off 3, but I'm hoping to hit scratch soon! I'm a practical person too, so if I were on a desert island, my three must-haves would be an inflatable raft with oars, a high-factor sun cream, and a fishing rod.
What is Your Role at Tiger?
I create bespoke cabins for customers and putting together the technical drawings and cutting lists for their approval before we build it for them. I also design and create new garden buildings and put together new product models that Tiger launches throughout the year. In addition, I also develop the ‘How to Build’ assembly instruction guides and customer information packs.
Describe a Typical Day at Tiger?
It really varies from day to day. A lot of my time involves creating and uploading building drawings and cutting lists to the system, but there is a physical side too – I am heavily involved when new buildings are being constructed to see how things fit together in the real world.
What Motivates You?
I enjoy looking at ways in which we can make design and production improvements across the business, and watching the products I have worked on move into production as well as when they launch on the website.
What’s the Best Part of your Job?
The creative process. Coming up with new ideas, doodling down thoughts and creating models to test them out. Plus working with my Tiger colleagues - I work with some nice people!
How Long Have You Worked at Tiger?
3 years and counting.
What Has Been your Favourite Project?
It must be the 19mm TigerFlex® Log Cabin Range. From the initial design stages to getting them ready for production, and now there are now six modular log cabin designs. I think they are great!
What Are You Most Proud of in Your Work at Tiger?
We've upped the standard of our product assembly instructions, and now cover more of our products. The feedback from our customers has been overwhelmingly positive, and we couldn't be happier with the results!

What’s Your Favourite Tiger Building?
I'd go with the Lakra 44mm Log Cabin - a perfect dual-use cabin with an indoor space and outdoor BBQ area - my natural habitat!
