Plan your Perfect Summerhouse
First things first, you will need to make sure that the location is perfect. If there’s an area in your garden that is unused or neglected and could be filled with a summerhouse then this is a good place to start. Other considerations… do you want your summerhouse in direct sunlight or more shaded? Once it’s built it is staying put so make sure you find the perfect spot.
Once the perfect place has been found, you will then need to consider:
- The footprint of your summerhouse
- Building design and finish including roof style (a sloped roof such as an apex or pent roof is better for water drainage)

Whichever design has caught your eye, the first thing to do is make sure it’s right for your garden. You’ll need at least one metre clear around the whole summerhouse for ease of access during assembly and maintenance. It’s also a good idea to check the planning regulations for your area, as we’d hate for you to be caught out.
