Apex Sheds

Apex gardens sheds are one of the most quintessential shed shapes out there – they offer both style and functionality to your outdoor space, and have a wide range of uses too. At Tiger Sheds, all our sheds with apex rooves are made from premium timber, that’s derived from European softwood trees like pine or spruce for maximum quality and durability.

Our catalogue of apex sheds includes many different window and door options, as well as a variety of cladding types and thicknesses, so you can find the perfect model for your intended use. What is an apex shed?

Simply put, an apex shed is a shed with a roof comprised of two sloping sides that meet in the middle at a high point, also known as an “apex”. This additional height makes them particularly useful for storage, and as they come in such a versatile range of sizes and designs, apex wooden sheds are one of the more popular models on the market.

It’s worth noting that – while the classic apex style is the most common – there are other options available too, like sheds with asymmetrical apex rooves, or barn-style apex rooves.

Why choose an apex shed?

  • Durability and longevity. Built from premium timber, our apex wooden sheds can last several decades if properly maintained.
  • Additional height. The peak of an apex shed provides extra headroom, ideal for storing bulky or awkward items, or for those planning on using their sheds for standing work.
  • Classic shed aesthetic. Many consider the apex roof the archetypal garden shed, providing a pleasing, traditional-style storage solution to your outdoor space.
  • Ideal for small workshops. With many sizes available, and several different window and door choices, apex sheds make a great choice for small and medium-sized workshops, home offices, or DIY gyms.

Cladding Styles for Apex Sheds

Tongue & Groove Cladding

Known for providing super secure joins, tongue, and groove cladding is particularly strong, with the tongue of one board fitting neatly into the groove of another until a panel is formed.

Shiplap Cladding

Shiplap cladding is an upgraded form of tongue and groove cladding, with an extra channel allowing quick water run-off for better damp protection and improved durability.

Loglap Cladding

Loglap cladding also locks together using the tongue and groove design, but these boards feature curved outer faces to replicate the look of a real log cabin for a more rural style.

Overlap Cladding

Perhaps the most popular and affordable, overlap cladding is fairly water resistant, but slightly less resistant to leaks than other forms.

Pressure Treated Cladding

As it’s immersed in a specific chemical treatment, pressure treated cladding is tougher, more weatherproof and rot-resistant than other forms of untreated timber.
