Introduction
Our Tiger ground screw foundations provide an efficient, environmentally friendly solution for supporting large garden buildings such as Tiger Modular garden rooms and Black Tiger insulated cabins. These mini piles, typically ranging from 1000mm to 1200mm in length, can be adjusted as needed to support your project. Ideal for year-round installation, ground screws avoid the need for digging and concrete, preserving the local environment while offering a sturdy, reliable foundation.

Additional charges may apply for the following:
• Working outside of standard hours (Mon-Fri, 08:00–16:00) unless agreed beforehand
• Undisclosed underground utilities (e.g., drains, electric, water, gas, telecoms) clients must notify Tiger of these in advance
• Variations in ground screw size, quantity, or specification beyond the agreed plan
• Damage/Theft to Tiger’s materials, tools, or equipment caused by others on site
• Fines, penalties, or parking fees incurred during installation
• Clearing the installation area of obstructions (e.g., shrubs or hard landscaping) before work begins
• Additional site visits needed for adjustments due site issues or third-party interference
• Any required ground tests or structural calculations for structures on the installation site
Site Assumptions:
Tiger assumes that information provided by the customer during survey or site assessments is accurate and that the site is safe, free of underground utilities, hazardous materials, or contamination. If any unexpected hazards are identified during our survey or installation that could pose a risk, the installation may be paused until further investigation, potentially incurring additional costs.
Our Installation Process
• Project Marking
Upon arrival, we mark out your project and identify exact locations for each ground screw foundation.
• Pre-Installation Checks
We perform visual checks and use a CAT-scan to detect any underground electrical cables or potential hazards.
• Drilling & Screw Positioning
Each marked location is predrilled, and ground screws are carefully positioned according to our setting-out drawing.
• Ground Screw Installation
Using our installation machines, we drive in the ground screws, beginning with the highest point to set the overall level. The remaining screws are installed with precision (+/- 5mm). While some screws may align at slight angles, the secondary framework compensates for any natural variances in the ground.
• Final Touches
A quick cleanup completes the foundation stage, readying the site for our main build team to erect the structure.
Client Requirements for Installation:

FAQs
What are ground screws, and how do they work?
Ground screws are like mini piles that act as sturdy foundations, installed by drilling directly into the ground like a giant screw. They offer support for structures without the need for concrete or digging, making them an efficient and environmentally friendly foundation solution.
Why choose ground screws over traditional concrete foundations?
Ground screws are faster to install, require no digging or concrete, and have minimal impact on the local environment. They are also frost-resistant, can be installed all year round, and are cost-effective compared to traditional foundations.
Are ground screws suitable for all types of soil?
Ground screws work well in most soil types, but for extreme conditions (such as very rocky or heavily compacted soil), additional ground testing may be required to determine suitability or alternative methods used.
Do I need to prepare the area before installation?
Yes, the installation area should be clear of obstructions, and you must inform us of any known underground services, such as water pipes, electrical cables, or gas lines etc.
Will I need to be onsite during installation?
While it’s not necessary for you to be present throughout the installation, we do ask that someone is available to provide access/power and answer any questions we may have during the process such as the location.
What access do you need for the installation team?
We need access to a 240V power supply and a clear path to the installation site. Parking should be arranged close to the work area to allow for safe loading and unloading of equipment.
How long does the installation take?
Installation is typically quick and efficient. Most projects can be completed within a single day, depending on the size of the structure and site conditions. Example 15 groundcrews would normally only take 2.5-hours on-site
Can ground screws support heavy structures?
Yes, ground screws are designed to support substantial weight, making them suitable for garden rooms, log cabins, decking, and other heavy outdoor structures, each screw in most instances will take over 500kg of vertical pressure.
